Description

A delicious and easy recipe for creamy crockpot pierogies with sausage and cheese.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag (24 oz) frozen pierogies
  • 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chives for garnish

Instructions

  1. Slice the sausage and onion then set aside.
  2. Whisk melted butter, cream cheese, chicken broth, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl until smooth.
  3. Place half the frozen pierogies in the bottom of the crockpot and top with half the sausage and onions.
  4. Pour some of the creamy sauce over the first layer.
  5. Add remaining pierogies, sausage, and onions then pour the rest of the sauce on top.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly across the surface.
  7. Cover and cook on LOW for 3 to 4 hours until pierogies are tender and cheese is melted.
  8. Stir gently and garnish with chives before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, do not overcook the pierogies.
  • Adjust seasoning according to taste.
