Description

A delicious creamy beef casserole that’s perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ pounds ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prep: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set it aside.
  2. Brown the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain any excess grease and set the beef aside.
  3. Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms. Sauté until the vegetables are softened and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Combine the Base: Return the beef to the skillet. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir in the cream cheese and sour cream until everything is well combined and creamy.
  5. Assemble the Casserole: Spoon the beef and veggie mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle provolone and mozzarella cheeses evenly over the top.
  6. Bake to Perfection: Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly with golden edges. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • This dish pairs well with a side salad.
